I painted my Knife Block a few days ago with a lovely french blue paint, and while cleaning out my cupboards, I came across my dingy bamboo silverware organizer.
and since I had a little bit leftover from my favorite blue paint, I decided to paint the tray blue, too.
To feed my organization obsession, I used a Sharpie to label the compartments.
Then, I used some spray on gloss coat to seal the paint and make it washable/waterproof.
You could totally use polycrylic (See my tips on that here.), but I didn't want to have to clean a brush afterwards.
I'm really pleased with how it turned out.
Just to keep it real, that is the silver that my grandmother gave me when I got married. On a day to day basis, we usually use paper plates and a few rogue forks.
That turned out great! I was totally feeling bad about my plain silverware for a minute... I'm relieved thats not your everyday stuff :) It's so beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI love it!! I actually have one of those wooden trays as well. May need to raid my paint stash for a fun color.
