For the past month, I've been working on refreshing our master bedroom. I still have a few more projects I have to finish before I can show you all of the changes. In the meantime, I thought I would give you a little sneak peek and show you the Greek Key ribbon pillow I made for the bed.
I love the way it turned out, and it was so easy to do.
This was truly one of the easiest projects. It took less than thirty minutes total. Do you remember my no-sew glue pillows I made back in April? I made this one the same way, using my beloved pillow glue, Unique Stitch (amazon affiliate link). Other than that, all I needed was some navy blue canvas fabric, some ivory ribbon, scissors, and hot glue.
After I made my envelope pillow case, I cut four strips of ribbon to be used for the greek key detail. I began by laying the first two strips where I wanted them and attaching them to the pillowcase with hotglue just at the folded corners.
Next, I glued the third strip on, again only glueing the corners down. (Don't mind the photobomb of leftover gemstone magnets. The craft room is in full craft-explosion mode right now as I work to complete this bedroom.)
Last, I attached the fourth strip at the corners. Once all the corners were in place I made sure everything was lined up perfectly, and then hotglued everything else down. I wrapped the ends of the ribbons around the back of the pillow, folding them over at the tips to create a nice seam.
And that's all it took!
That's how I made my little Greek Key pillow for less than $10 total! Thanks so much for stopping by today! Don't forget to pin this post so you can find it when you need it!

ReplyDeleteSo cute girl. I need to do more no sew projects, especially since I hate dragging the sewing machine out!
ReplyDeleteAww--that pillow is super cute!! And if that shot is a sneak-peak of the room changes, I'm stoked!!
ReplyDeleteLoved the magnets too--and I laughed out loud at your sassy fridge. Divas...whatcha gonna do?! :P
Where do you purchase your pillow forms? I have a hard time finding affordable down pillows.
ReplyDeleteSUPER cute! You made Greek key look easy, where I made it look extra complicated and hard. :)
ReplyDeleteSo cute! Looks great! I love easy no-sew projects.
