I'm so excited.
And, it's been an absolutely crazy week.
Our house has been on the market for 6 days now and we've had 2-3 showings almost every day. Since Jesse and I both work from home (and Ava 'toddles' at home), we all have to pack up and get out of the house...sometimes for 4-6 hour stretches. There are worse things to have to deal with in this life, but omg did I walk around Target for a really long time today.
We can only go to the park so much when it's 95 degrees outside.
Ava and I are a very pale duo.
So, yeah, lots of driving around, lots of store-perusing, lots of walks, we went to a used book store and got Ava some books. We also went downtown yesterday and met my mom for a belated birthday lunch (my 33rd bday was on Monday).
I love this picture of Ava, just eating her Cheerios and watching us talk, enjoying the breeze in her hairs.
And Jesse and I were even able to get a little adult time on my birthday, so yay!!!
It's way too hot to be in the bathroom with a round brush and blowdryer, and I feel like most days I look as if I've been dipped in a deep fryer,
so let this picture live on in eternity.
But, anyway, the house hasn't sold yet.
I could write a million more things after that sentence, in a million different directions, but I've deleted every attempt at doing so.
Let's just see how it pans out, and then we'll talk.
Fingers crossed that by the time I write my next post I will have a juicier scoop for you.
It looks as though we will close on our new fixer upper sometime late next week, so I'm hoping to have some 'before' pictures of the new house for you guys soon. I'm so excited to close and get in there. I don't think we'll be doing any major renovations yet until our current house sells, but I still might get in there and do some painting and planning...you know.
I mean, I have a baby, and that makes absolutely zero logistical sense, especially since we'll still be living in our current home until it sells, but in my mind's eye, I'm all up in that new home, staying up all night, going crazy with a paintbrush.
I'll keep you guys posted.
xo,
Can't wait to follow your journey in the new house. Positive vibes being sent your way!!
ReplyDeleteFingers crossed for a quick sell! So exciting. Good luck.
ReplyDeleteAnd happy belated birthday!
ReplyDeleteThis reminds me of your stint at Panera Bread...
ReplyDeleteHope your house sells soon! I am so excited for you, and can't wait to see the pics! I have so been there at 1 am with a paintbrush in hand...I totally get that! I am going to live vicariously through you for a while until we find our own little fixer!
Happy belated birthday =)
Amazing!! Finally starting the half Reno / organizing/ makeover of hour house.... More like pinning things I like on Pinterest 😂
ReplyDeleteI feel your pain, I am going through all this. We bought a house that was on the market 2 years and fixed it up. We just put it up for sale after 7 years of living there. It sold in 2 days and we are scrambling for a place to live. I guess we didn't think that would happen. You are lucky to have already found a house. I have mentally decorated every house we almost bought.
ReplyDeleteHow exciting!
ReplyDeleteOh wow... what an adventure you've taken us all on in your 70's home. I have no doubt you house will sell sooner rather than later...
ReplyDeleteI can't wait for our next journey in your new house... Woot woot!!!
Happy Belated Birthday! You three are the prettiest family. Be sure to keep us posted on everything. I can identify with the selling and move. I sold my house in 4 months and CANNOT find one I want to buy! I've been living with my sister for 19 mos.!!! ( I never planned on that!)
ReplyDeleteHappy belated birthday! I hope you are in your new house soon - can't wait to see the photos!
ReplyDeleteBelated Birthday greetings. It I can't believe how quick it is to buy a home across the puddle. It's red tape and yawnsville all the way here in the U.K. I have no doubts your current home will soon sell, you and Jesse have done an amazing job on it. You will be painting with matchsticks holding open your eyes in no time! Sue - The World of Suzy Homemaker
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to see what is in store for you, and all your ideas.
ReplyDeleteWe are in the same boat...bought our future house while our current one is still for sale...and it's been a really slow market after a short 'flush', so we are sweating it a bit...I hope yours and ours sells quickly, and I understand your paintbrush issue! I stay awake at night thinking of colors and painting in our 'new' place! Best of luck to you and Jesse...and Ava, of course!
ReplyDeleteHappy belated birthday! Do you plan to stay in your current home so it'll be "staged?" I know selling a house is frustrating.
