  2. I just recently found you by googling how to paint the inside of a dresser drawer, and I have to say I absolutely love your style. I love the beautiful whites and creams, it's exactly how I want my future home to be. I can't wait to see what you do next.

  3. I love the colors in your house. Do you happen to know the brand and names of the colors for each room? I have been looking everywhere and these are perfect!

  7. I just wanted to say that I spend a lot of time on Pinterest (admittedly probably way too much time) and thus see a lot of blogs like yours, but for some reason, yours stuck out to me when I stumbled across it today. I have never commented on anyone's blog before but I felt compelled to on yours. Not only do I love your style, I love how you seem so "real" and humble about everything. It makes me feel like I can accomplish the same things you have, even though I have no crafty background at all. Thanks for this blog - it is inspiring and beautiful :)

  8. Virginia,
I love your redesign of the old piano bench. I don't have one and you show a link to this: http://1vision.com/2010/10/21/diy-ballard-designs-bench/ for those without a bench to repurpose but it doesn't work. Any way to get that info??

Love your paint tips...I followed a google search for Polycrylic to your site. I was wondering whether you've ever used it to stiffen fabric? I wanted to try fanfolding some stiffened upholstery fabric for a diy window shade.
    thanks!

  10. I absolutely love all your 10 Tips... It really helps when trying to explain to my husband how I "see" our home. I'm trying to save him money here, but he's a tough sell! Your before and after pictures helps me show him what I mean when I am trying to explain a DIY idea I have. Thanks a bunch, love your style and all the helpful tips. :)

  11. Hi Virginia,
Thanks so much for all the great info. I was wondering if you had any experience with a product to remove wood grain from a piece of furniture before painting it?
    Thanks again!

  16. Hi Virginia,
I just LOVE your blog! so many great ideas! I am actually trying to find an old desk that I could turn into a vanity cause I absolutely LOVE the silver leaf one you did.I would love to see you do a tutorial on sanding and when/if it's necessary. I am new to DIY Projects and I have an Oak Headboard and Footboard I would like to paint. Just wondering if it needs sanding first and if so what is the best way to sand, sorry i'm a newbee lol! Any tips/input would be greatly appreciated:)
