I've been wanting to do my kitchen cabinets and this is getting me excited. However, I have a question: what do I do about the sides of my cabinets where there is some type of veneer? I don't know if it is wood; it feels almost plastic-y. Should I treat it the same as the wood and forge ahead with the whole process anyway? Thanks again, TerryAnonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05134794927567485956noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1468383212336747161.post-52259360437779303552016-06-28T16:25:12.366-04:002016-06-28T16:25:12.366-04:00Well done! Great job on the cabinets too...getting ready to paint mine....they're original to the house (built in 1994)...and are virgin (no paint) so I'm hoping for a straightforward process. One thing I did notice.....you have an abundance of wine glasses, girl. Just line up the edge of the cardboard with the edge of the cabinet and then place your hardware up where it should go and mark on the cardboard with a pen. I have been considering painting my kitchen cabinets for a while but there is one aspect that is particularly overwhelming...replacing the hardware. I have considered just keeping the current stuff, but it is pretty awful. How do you know where to drill the holes to fit the new hardware? It seems like it has to be pretty exact and I am worried that I am going to end up drilling holes all over the cabinets trying to get it right. Any tips? Again thanks for the great post.
